What conditions does manual
  therapy treat?
The fact is, every pathology, discomfort and disease has a mechanical
component. Therefore, manual therapy can help any condition. As
an example, the thyroid treatment insures that the gland is moving
freely within its environment and has adequate blood supply.
Manual therapy does not “fix” the thyroid, but allows the thyroid to
function at its optimal level. Make sure you mention all ailments, no
matter how small, to your therapist so that they may serve you
  better.
  Some common ailments are:

What is manual therapy?
Manual Therapy is a science-based approach that uses
the hands of a skilled practitioner to locate and treat
lesions or injuries anywhere in the body. It is an
integrated treatment method that combines the
  underlying principles and concepts of:

Does manual therapy hurt?
As a Manual Therapist, Jim is dedicated to working with the body as
gently as possible. On occasion the body has been traumatized to a
point that any touch could elicit a pain response. For example, an
inflamed nerve or ligament may initially respond to touch very
sharply, then calm within a few seconds. Let Jim know if anything is
uncomfortable and he will work with you to reduce discomfort.

By combining these sciences, the Manual Therapist improves the
function of all body systems, thereby reducing pain, increasing ease
of movement & mobility. Manual Therapy is the most effective way
to treat pain, addressing the cause of the pain and the symptoms.

What should you expect?
Most work is done while client is fully clothed.
Therefore it is important to wear loose flexible
clothing to insure your comfort. If any muscle work is required to
increase the effectiveness of the work, you will be asked to remove
some clothing and cover with a sheet.
